Item:  Martele Bowl - coded EFZ - 9584/1000 Fine Silver

Maker:  Gorham, Rhode Island, 1914

Description:  The salad bowl, a special order from Spaulding and Company, was completed March 26, 1914.  The bowl was made by James Leckenby and Edward Zior Junior in 28 hours, and chased with eucalyptus leaves by George Sauthoff for 44 hours.  The bowl is 12 3/8 inches in diameter, stands 3 1/4 inches tall, and weighs 46.9 troy ounces.    

Condition:  Average condition with some wear to the decoration.  Some small nicks and spotting on inside bottom.  There is a period three letter monogram on the bottom.
